Campaign Poll Shows Mayoral Candidate Janeese Lewis George Up By 14 Points

Janeese Lewis George leads her main opponent by double digits in both the multi-candidate field and in a ranked choice voting simulation.

DC mayoral candidate and Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George leads her main opponent Kenyan McDuffie by double digits in both the multi-candidate field and in a ranked choice voting simulation. Lewis George is up by 14 points overall and by 12 points in a ranked choice voting simulation.

The key findings are from a poll of 600 likely voters in the June Democratic primary for DC Mayor conducted May 17-21 by public opinion research and political strategy firm GBAO. The multi-modal survey (live phone interviews and text-to-web interviews) carries a margin of error of +/- 4.0 percentage points at the 95% confidence level. Here is the polling memo from GBAO.

Lewis George’s campaign has already knocked on 100,000 voters’ doors and plans to knock on tens of thousands more doors. Lewis George is also endorsed by 52 organizations and elected officials, including 23 labor unions, Free DC, and former DC Attorney General Karl Racine.
